WARNING: DID NOT FINISH
A Tide of Black Steel by Anthony Ryan
For me it’s a did-not-finish book.
The writing is very verbose, so the book does not flow very well -> the story is slow to move and nothing really happens.
It includes lots of special world building terms (like people’s professions or geographic terms) that I had to look up to understand.
The world is not really explained well so I also had to look up how that world works, since it has ties to Ryan’s other books.
And the characters are one dimensional and pretty bland so far. Not really interesting.
I read until the end of part 1, so all of this might have changed, but be warned that this is a very slow book at the beginning - to get used to it and all.
